Then kept walking.
And noticed something curious.

WHY IS EVERYONE TAKING PHOTOS OF THEIR COFFEE? 😂

Phone out.

Dad saw it once.
Then again.
And again.
Okay…
WHAT COFFEE IS THAT?

And found this.

Ahhh.
There was a crowd.
There were coffee cups everywhere.
And, naturally…

Now Dad understood the photos.

Same Qianmen.
Different mood.
Lights on.
People everywhere.
Dad kept walking.
And guess what?
THEY WERE STILL TAKING PHOTOS OF THEIR COFFEE. 😂

Dad had now reached the point where he was…

THEN DAD SAW THIS.
Dad stopped again.

Traditional-inspired clothing.
Smartphones.
Qianmen.
Beijing.
No long explanation needed.
The photograph says it better.

MODERN?
BOTH.
Is Qianmen Worth Visiting in Beijing?
DAD SAYS GO! 👍
But Dad has one suggestion:
DON’T JUST COME IN THE DAYTIME.
Come in the late afternoon.
Walk.
Look.
Notice.
Then stay as the sun goes down.
Qianmen looks different after dark.
And don’t rush around trying to complete a checklist.
Sometimes the best part is simply noticing what everyone else is doing.
That’s how Dad ended up following…
