I recently post something about going to Beijing during the golden week and I’m glad I didn’t buy my tickets 😅
SO, I’m thinking about postpone my holidays week to to end of October or November! Do you have any advice about the period to choose? My goal is to spend 6 or 7 days in China; 4 in Beijing at least and potentially 1 other city! (I’ve seen a lot of posts about Xi’an)

If you have 7 days, however, Beijing + Xi’an is the combination I’d choose: approximately 4 days Beijing + 3 days Xi’an. Xi’an isn’t just an extra city for the Terracotta Army. Beijing introduces imperial and modern China; Xi’an takes you much further back toward the beginnings of unified imperial China. Together they tell a surprisingly coherent story.
If you have only 6 days including arrival and departure, I’d seriously consider staying entirely in Beijing rather than losing precious time changing hotels and cities.
So my ranking would be:
7 days → Beijing + Xi’an
6 days → Beijing only, unless Xi’an is a major personal priority
